All municipal officials and personnel are encouraged to attend the MMA’s free Legislative Breakfast meetings, which bring together municipal officials and legislators to discuss issues affecting local communities, particularly fiscal 2011 budget issues.
The breakfast meetings come at an important time, as legislators will be setting legislative priorities for the year and preparing the fiscal 2011 state budget. MMA staff will also lead a discussion on legislative initiatives to reduce municipal costs.
Local officials are urged to take advantage of this opportunity to describe the problems that communities face, discuss potential solutions, and address what can be done collaboratively to enhance the quality of life for residents and taxpayers.
Many representatives and senators have committed to attending the breakfast meetings.
The meetings begin at 8 a.m. with coffee and networking. The program begins at 8:30 and concludes at 10 a.m.
